What to expect on Level 1
Level 1 is the starting point for your Makaton journey, providing a practical introduction to the Makaton Communication Programme and a wider understanding of learning & communication difficulties.
It is recommended for people who need to use Makaton at home & in their work, to develop the communication skills of others.
The Level 1 Workshop includes how to start using Makaton in everyday situations; immediate needs, home, familiar people, food, events, activities & objects.
You will learn over 140 signs & symbols from stages 1 & 2 of the core vocabulary and Part A of the additional vocabulary.
You will also discover hints & tips for effective signing & symbol use to maximise communication.
